Halstead welcome new overseas for 2012

19 Mar 2012

Halstead CC is pleased to welcome Daniel Sincuba as their overseas player for the 2012 season. The 20 year old South African is originally from Durban and attended Northwood Boys’ School; an establishment with cricketing alumni such as Shaun Pollock and Robin Smith. He has played 1st XI cricket since the age of 15 for his school and 16 for local premier league side African Warriors CC.

Daniel is a right-handed batsman and wicket keeper, though due to a knee injury he has recently been bowling off spin to complement his batting. He is now over his knee problem and looking forward to contributing to the Halstead side in any way he can, be it behind the stumps or bowling off spin.

Daniel will also bring coaching expertise to the Halstead set up. In 2011 he coached with local Durban youth side Pinetown Boys. Whilst in 2012 he has worked with All-Rounder Cricket Academy and the International School of Hout Bay in Cape Town.

Daniel will be looking to link up with the club for the season’s curtain raiser on April 15th at home to newly promoted EAPL side Copdock & Old Ipswichians.
